void, then shuts her eyes again. "Pastrami... Cradle."

[21:48] <Chamelaeon> "You just walked through a haven of geeks called the
Foxhole, and you're asking questions? Anyway. There's a standing regiment at the
place, but they're dumb meat there to fake the scientists into thinking they're
safe. Like as not we're gonna have to flush the place ourselves."
[21:48] * Vernon is looking around, trying to memorize as much information as
possible.
[21:48] * Isis mutters to herself, "Why is it every time I hear a scientist's
name for an ATC installation, I expect to see a skyline colored and drawn like a
child's coloring book?"

reference, it's obvious you're moving blindingly fast. In a split second, you
move through it, and with the familiar gut-wrenching shlorp, you find yourselves
spit out in a bodyslide bowl. [Everyone take 1 Mental Strain, except Vernon, who
takes 3.]>>

[21:56] * Isis wobbles, but manages to stay upright because of her aura of
Extreme Cool. Well, actually it's because she blew CP on Catlike balance. "There

sure.
[21:57] * Tim stumbles his way out of the bowl, rubbing the side of his helmet.

[21:57] * Chako looks around shakily as she walks.
[21:57] <Chamelaeon> <<You're under a moderate cloud cover, with one glowing
line above that. Through the clouds, you can see ... a city above you? Wacky,
that. Around the bodyslide bowl are split-level ranch houses, all of the same
style. There is no one in sight, but you can hear explosions and thuds. You can
even see them in the city above you.>>
[21:58] <Chamelaeon> <<I should also mention that the horizon curves up. Boy,
isn't that unsettling?>>
[21:58] * Isis glances around. "We're on... an asteroid? With cloud cover?" She
pauses. "...Hollowed out. Like a small Dyson Sphere."
[21:58] * Chako looks behind her quickly, and says, "Well, at least the random
stuff didn't follow us."
[21:58] * Tim looks around. "I think we're 'in' more than 'on'. Like-- yeah."

[21:59] * Tim looks up at the explosions and thuds in the city. "Uhm, I think we
need to head that way. Maybe. Chief?"
[22:00] <Chamelaeon> <<Lisa clutches her stomach and stumbles out of the bowl.>>
"You put up with that? You've all gone up a nitch in my book." <<She looks
around.>> "Fuck. I've never BEEN in the Residential section. Damn you, Jones!
I'll ram that pipe so far up your ass..." <<She nods to Tim.>> "Good for a
start, but we've got to make it to the Messenger."
[22:00] * Illyana peers around.
[22:01] <Chamelaeon> "I don't know if they can get inside it, but if they do,
I'm signing up for the first Venusian gas trawler I can find."
[22:02] <Tim> Alright. Which way's that?
[22:02] <Tim> Er, the Messenger. Not the gas trawler.
[22:03] <Chamelaeon> "I don't fucking know. We've got to find one of the tube
valves." <<She starts peering around, then sighs and points towards where the
light-bar appears to touch the surface. "That's the only one I know. Let's
move."
[22:04] * Tim nods and moves thataways.
[22:04] * Illyana follows, keeping her eyes peeled.
[22:04] <Chamelaeon> <<Lisa starts off at a trot.>>
[22:04] * Chako starts moving, keeping pace with Lisa.
[22:04] * Isis follows.
[22:04] * Charlie heads out, also keeping an eye out.
[22:05] <Charlie> Looks to be some hippies at the light-bar!

[22:06] * Tim blinks and looks for hippies at the light-bar.
[22:06] <Isis> ( Very odd image of light bar. It involves light bulbs. )
[22:06] <Chamelaeon> <<Lisa nods. The rest of you can't quite see anything
yet.>>
[22:06] * Chako peers, and frowns, continuing to keep pace.
[22:07] * Isis mms. "Can you hit them from here, Charlie?"
[22:07] <Chamelaeon> <<As you move into the city, you start to see bodies. Piles
of them, like someone's already gone through and cleaned up. Some of the houses
are burning, some are destroyed, and some are just gone.>>
[22:08] <Charlie> I doubt it. Still a little far... I see.. two clumps of 'em.
[22:09] * Chako looks about with distaste, and continues running, glancing up at
the light bar every so often to see if she can see targets.
[22:09] <Illyana> Vhere is the Messenger, and how close to it are they?
[22:10] * Isis frowns, glancing around at the bodies. "'Clumps'. Perhaps they've
abandoned the city already. How do you sneak *into* an asteroid?"
[22:11] <Chamelaeon> <<Lisa peers.>> "There's no gravity at the center. You can
fly along it fuckin' fast. If they know what they're looking for, then they're
already there." <<She eyes the bodies and breaks into a full run.>> 
[22:12] <Tim> I hate to think of this, Isis, but there's the way we went.
[22:12] <Illyana> Then ve had better move.
[22:12] * Isis sighs. "It was the possibility I was hoping to avoid considering.
The likelihood that they have the technology, however, is quite high."
[22:13] * Chako speeds up, and simply says, "Maybe."
[22:13] <Tim> Yeah. They seem to have lots of help in the technology area. 
[22:13] * Tim runs along after Lisa, suddenly wishing he'd done more combat
training. As opposed to, say, none.
[22:13] * Vernon speeds up as well, bringing up the rear.
[22:13] * Illyana fights Vernon for the rear, dangit.

quite nicely the group of Hippies piling bodies. They're grumbling about the
work, which is why they don't notice the lack of any sensor readings.

[22:25] * Isis sighs. "Well, 'Mark'. The surest way to escape this situation
alive is to very carefully answer all of our questions in as succinct a manner
as possible. Do you understand?"
[22:27] <Chamelaeon> <<Mark nods. One of the other Hippies takes a few steps
forward and holds out a hand. "Fishwater, no! Don't do it!">>
[22:27] * Tim decides not to shoot yet, but keeps the remaining hippies in the
sights of his rifle. What? Yeah, he does have a rifle.
[22:28] <Charlie> (I would point my weapon at him, but I think it would be
somewhat ineffective, as I'm not as visible as usual.)
[22:28] * Chako helpfully fires a pulse of energy from her right hand. (EMP.)
[22:28] <Chako> (At the one who decided to step forward, yes.)
[22:29] <Chamelaeon> <<The Hippy falls over, as do the suits on either side.
Shoddy wiring. *tsk* Mark is still shaking.>>
[22:30] * Isis twitches her eyebrow a little. "Fishwater. How..." She pauses.
"Never mind that. The main force. Where are they?"
[22:32] <Chamelaeon> "The... they're all over, dude!" <<He flails wildly with
his arm.>> "The officer and elite squads're all in the sealtubes, though.... the
ATC fucke-... the ATC soldiers have 'em blockaded out! Or last I heard, dude,
don't hurt me! I just came to find myself, man! Read Bean, Black Bean, they're
up there too! Don't kill me! I just wanted to find myself!" <<He breaks down
sobbing.>>

makes a satisfying and very audible metallic shifting sound. "How did you

to pull the trigger on the group.

ships! They got us in the bug ship, we fell in a hole, and came out here, dude!

interrupted by Lisa coming out from behind a building, and cutting off the heads
of two of the Hippies.>> "Bad news. One of these pissants radioed in. They've
got six squads headed for this location now.

[22:45] * Chako grins, says "Nice knowing you," and lets two lasers slice
through two more of the hippies.

[22:45] * Isis snarls, in a really unpleasant and sort of uncharacteristic
manner, "Answer the *question*!"
[22:45] * Isis drives her swordpoint partway through the neckjoint. Because she
isn't aware that the little snot will probably pass out.
[22:45] <Chamelaeon> "YEah! Bugs! Some of em spiders, some like these cricket
fuckers... dude, I don't know!"

[22:46] * Tim looks around.
[22:46] * Isis sighs. "You've been very helpful. Enjoy the afterlife." She rams
her sword through the bastard's chest. "I hate being right."

in the section with all the controls. Which is where the Messenger is." Her
swords are still drawn. "And Tim, just keep moving. Save your ammo for when it
