<> <> <> (oh. That gear thing. The one that gave us dust.) * Amadeus looks for more things to unlock, for unlocking is fun. * Tomas pulls the ring off the box of dust and continues searching. <> * Lexi continues to search around while levitating various objects that she finds and turning them around to see if they look interesting. "Wonder why this place seems so intact? You think whatever attacked them didn't get this far?" <> Perhaps the defenses were more capable hundreds of years ago. <> * Todd is now known as Hestia * Tomas walks up to the first door and tries to fit the ring to its gear. <> (...I don't know what's going on at the high school, but *I* can hear it.) * Tomas frowns, "No good. Wanna try some of your rings, Lex?" * Hestia comes up from behind the group, having lagged behind to take one last look at the Beak-n'-Say. "Any luck?" <> (The A/C kicks on. Sadly, the jihadabirds filled it with poison gas and we all die.) (I'm also Very Disappointed that 'Beak-n'-Say' didn't get a laugh.) * Tomas smiles as the ring works and he pushes open the door, "They use these rings as keys, it seems." * Hestia glances at the gears. "That doesn't seem like a very effective key system. Wouldn't it be... ridiculously easy to make a 'key' if you had a mold of the 'lock'?" * Tomas shrugs, "Maybe they just never thought of that." (Sorry. Was doing wedding planning. I'm back) * Zeke replies, "Perhaps they lack that technology." (What's in the room! Open the door open the door!) * Hestia raises an eyebrow at Zeke. "So like, they can do remote turrets but modelling clay is beyond them?" (I already opened it!) <> <> * Tomas flicks a black rhomboid with his finger, "What the heck is this?" * Zeke moves forward and says, "It is unlikely, but possible." (So very on the phone!) * Hestia steps forward after Tomas, looking it over. "Another 'terminal', looks like," <> (Sorry, I missed that Og meant the rhomboid specifically and went with what I knew.) * Hestia follows the black cord to what he actually meant and shrugs, looking at them. "As for these, I have no idea." (Aaaand the A/C kicks on.) (It's 47 degrees out chief.) (Do we have Kyle's pluggy thing?) (So we can turn on the box?) (I believe Kyle has Kyle's pluggy thing.) (<>) * Lexi walks around the room and looks about. "What do you suppose this was for?" (How is that different than "lumpy boxes like Kyle" etc etc? I'm having trouble sorting out what all this stuff is.) (Okay, sorry. The devices in the ruin, are, thus far, fairly devoid of much actual input or output capabilities. They're inert lumps with little readouts. The thing under the desk - the lumpy box is the actual computer. The IO gidget/IO codex/whatever is a small thing that plugs into other devices, actually letting you turn them on and do stuff with them.) (Okay, so the IO gidget is the key.) (So we take it and turn on the box!) * Zeke crouches down to grab the new IO gidget, straightens, and moves forward to the box between the panels. "Flat planes seem odd for controls," he comments idly as he does so. <> Probably because they're not, evidently. <> * Hestia pores over the map. Are any of the areas red? (Or red-ish) * Zeke holo-looks to Hestia, then back to the map. "Evidently." <> * Hestia focuses on the red text. "Well... there's no reason to assume the birds are even remotely like us. That said, in my experience, red on a floor plan means 1.) danger or 2.) don't go here." She starts looking for the closest red-marked zone. <> * Hestia raises an eyebrow when she discovers that fact. "Hm." <> * Tomas looks around the room, "I don't think red means danger." <> * Hestia is still looking at the map. "We didn't think the camera outside meant danger either." * Lexi shakes her head. "Man.. There's always danger. Why can't we end up on the planet of the crazy party aliens with bars and beaches everywhere. And why are all the civilizations we find dead?" * Hestia stands up and dusts off her hands. "Bugs, mostly, is my guess. I think we should check out the yellow patches on this floor." <> (Are the rhomboid things portable?) <> * Tomas nods to 'Tia and heads yellow area-ward. * Zeke's drones, well, 4 of them, walk with Tomas and Tia. "I will relay positional information." * Hestia gives the drones the same look she usually gives them ("Creepy!") and then turns to go. <> * Hestia frowns at that news. "Hope that doesn't mean 'password required'." so yellow is secure areas? Could be. Try one of the gears first, I guess. <> (The IO Gidget is removable?) (Yeah. It's a portable device.) <> (Shadow-Kyle has an IO gidget that he's following us around with?) (I think he's just messing with the original box.) <> (badger badger badger) * Tomas pulls out his IO gidget and plugs it into the door to see what happens! <> * Hestia crosses her arms over her chest. "Well, this is technically progress." (Did anything change for me?) * Tomas searches the door jamb for a post-it note or something. <> * Zeke presses a finger against the flashing door on his end. <> * Zeke comms, "I have a runic sequence." (Comms are A/V, I'm fairly sure?) (Yes.) (In suit anyhow) * Zeke also comms to Tomas, with him being in a suit, the sequence! (Hestia is denied!) * Tomas enters the sequence into the IO gidget. <>
